GMAT adventure starts today - ends February 2012 (I hope)!

Hi all

As of today, 9th October 2011, I've officially embarked on my GMAT adventure

I'm currently a lawyer in London, UK and have decided on a complete career change. My dream is to go into the hotel / tourism industry and I'm hoping to do an MBA-style hotel management course in Switzerland.

I've allocated myself a total of 4 months self study time for the GMAT and plan to take the test in February 2012. My aim is to do about 1 hour revision during weekdays and 4 hours at the weekend.

I'm currently preparing my study plan. The first week is fairly chilled out, focusing on researching what the GMAT is all about, taking the diagnostic test in the Official Review, and capping the week off with the test on mba.com.

I've just ordered the pack of 8 Manhattan Study Guides and from the second week onwards, it's full steam ahead with maths revision. As I haven't done any maths since I was 16, this could be an interesting and not particularly pleasant experience...

Anyway, I just wanted to say 'hi' and 'thanks' for this great website, which I'm sure will keep me going throughout my revision period and beyond.

Looking forward to chatting and sharing GMAT experiences.

Welcome! Sounds like you are well orgainized and ready to take on the test. I have only suggestions is to be sure you find a hierarchy of information - don't spend too much time on the small, overly complex stuff. ASk questions here - itis a very usedful place. Best of Luck

Thanks for your replies and tips

I'm using this website and forum as my "hub" into the world of GMAT - I don't think I would have got as far as I have without it, and no doubt I'll be returning on a regular (if not daily!) basis!!

I think organisation is the key - and I just need to ensure that I stick to my study plans.

I might book the test this week too so that I have an exact target to work towards.
