adt2 - thanks for the post. I am so happy that you found the commitment essay useful as well. It has been a very crucial part of my life. When I am down, or depressed, or feel like whining I just read that essay and get back on track. When you say you will do something, you have to put your heart and soul into it - nothing less counts.

I am sure you will get the score you are aiming for. Just make sure you create a well thought out study plan isolating what is important in the exam, what your weaknesses are in those areas, and work smart. When I started I got a 460, I sucked at almost everything. The work smart was, I realized that I would need 6 months to get where I want to, and I had a detailed plan to make it happen - figure out where you are as well, and what you need to get to your goal line. Once you have your plan figured out, the rest is mechanics.

I always say this in all my posts, after everything is said and done, do give a quick hello to god. he is always there beside us, but a quick nudge saying boss, I've given it everything, now please do your part - always helps :)

Take care and all the best,
-ngufo

Strange..

I had a score of 720 with breakup of 49 and 38. is it possible for two scores to be same even with different raw scores.

Thanks

Great story.
I just saved all the attached files ad printed the "True Commitment" poem.
It's above all, a true inspiration story.
Thanks to share such a story with us

Thanks Jayanth - I really hope you experience the same exhilaration of achieving the impossible, once you write the GMAT. Its a bitter sweet experience.

AskI: The true commitment poem, has been my pillar for a long time. Keeps me sane, and stops me from whining complaining, or thinking things are too hard to get thru. I hope it helps you just as much.

Take care folks, and all the best,

@ngufo..
inspired ..motivated..and moreover i can feel ur struggle when u r explaining your success story. it really was. considering ur initial skills that u said average student who hated maths..well am another xerox copy of that character. i was practicing for more than 2 months and still my scores were not improving(still in 400 levels). not able to figure out where am doing mistakes. during mock tests, with panic or with tension i couldn't frame equation when any difficult question comes. but when m reviewing d same after d exam, surprisingly i was able 2 solve(with little help nd extra time). dreamt of going to top b-schools and i left my job also for this preparation. now after my scores were not improving and m loosing hope that i cant clear d exam. don know wat to do. one problem i can clearly figure out was my basic concepts were not clear. as am science student rite from 11th,was shit scared of this math part. now also, after doing og11 and 12 i was not able to clear concepts. i had joined coaching class..but it din helped me coz of d pace de r going in d class, not able 2 grasp d concepts. thought ill study my self with og first. but considering my 2 months of preparation, still i was not clear with basic concepts.. i definitely need ur help in this..

- pls suggest me how to clear d basic concepts. i have og10,11,12. nothing else for math. do i need to buy any other good book for basics ??
-for verbal have manhattan and kaplan.

overall..with lost hope and disappointment with d was i going..thought gmat is not my cup of tea. but after reading ur story..thought if she did that..y cant i. need ur help pls..

Hey ngufo...

Your debrief is truly inspiring..Although I read it only now, after having taken the GMAT, your post greatly inspires me to look forward and apply to B-schools without any fear of failure..

I hope you are at Harvard or have found your calling wherever that may be!

Cheers!
