Hi Everybody!

I appeared GMAT last week & got really poor score of 550 (QA-47 Verbal-20). I got into time crunch in verbal. I guess, the hurried lot of last 10 questions made me lose the game.
As per my observation through practice and even in GMAT, I find RCs pretty time consuming. And success rate of RCs & SCs is low too.

Kindly please help me to strategize my further plan of study. I plan to take GMAT by 3rd week of Dec.
Which books should I refer? Which tests should I appear? I m working on 1000SCs currently! Btw, is there any explanations available for the same anywhere

And should I really join a coaching. I just had a talk with person who takes one-on-one classes. Will that really help? Though this is highly individual dependent query but just wanted to know your experiences if you have gone through same drill earlier. Your experiences will really help!

What is ur target score?

on improving RC and SC, the latter is more easier to improve in one month. Practice more. Hope you have Manhattan SC guide.

On explanations of 1000 SC, just copy the question and paste it on google. You ll get to various explanations on forums such as beatthegmat.

Whether you shud take classes, well its on ur convenience. Always look at how good the prof is and whether you have enuf time to benefit.

I agree with Karan. Join a classroom program only if you know that the person teaching you is great! Otherwise, I don't think that joining a classroom program would help you much. You can learn the basics which they'll teach you in class through the books. I'd highly suggest participating on the BTG community to discuss questions and to read the explanations given by the experts.
Regarding the books to use, you may want to surf around and see what material did those who have taken the GMAT use!

I'm sure with continued efforts, the GMAT monster can be tamed!

Plus, Could anyone recommend me any book for Quant? I haven't used any thing apart from OG12 earlier. Just to keep in touch with Quant; any recommendations??
