Hey Folks,

my scores on the first 2 attempts were 650 and 680. During practice for the second attempt, I scored 710 and 720 on the GMAT preps but still ended up not hitting the 700 mark on the actual test.
Now i am thinking of giving it a third try. Do guys think it would be worth giving one?
Can there be much difference? My second attempt was in August, so i am still a bit fresh.
Any suggestions? I have relied mostly on the OGs for the 2 practice durations. Should i try any other material for the third?
Any suggestions will be helpful.

I guess this question is better suited for the consultant section, but here's my take on it: if you think you can improve an extra 40 points, then go for it. Otherwise, I don't think it's worth it. I was at this admissions event hosted by a member of the Columbia Business School staff and here attitude towards the GMAT was: anything around 700 is good, as long as you're in the middle 80% range.

Stuff to use for a third attempt:
- MGMAT SC guide
- PowerScore CR Bible + LSAT sets for tough RC and CR practice
- challenging quant problems - can't recommend anything in particular though

Thanks for your reply Dana. But the schools (ISB, NUS..) I am planning to apply to have the 80% range as 680-750+. I will be falling in the lower segment on all counts. So my take is that i would need a 720+ score to have a fair chance of making it.
That is the reason for thinking about the third attempt. Do you think it makes sense?
My plan is to give my last go at GMAT whatever might happen in the first/ second week of November.
It is a hard thing to get the inspiration to study for a third time. But i am building up the determination by going through some of the threads on this site.

Manhattan books are not available in India. So i dont think i can get them shipped within 2 weeks. Are there any other books which can help me boost my score this time?

Do you have links to any online material which might be useful. I downloaded the LSAT CR and RC question set that you had uploaded in one of the other threads.
Anything else that can be useful will be very valuable for my preps.

I suggest you check out the Resources tab at the top of the page - it's got a subsection with Useful links. You might find something interesting in there, however I have not used those links myself, since I only noticed them after my prep :)

There are about 100 99 percentile questions collection posted by zuleron, which are from GMATPrep 1 and 2. May be you should try those..
