We have our test on the same date. How are you feeling? Nervous, anxious, eager? I don't know, I'm starting to get excited. I kind of just want this to be over...lol

I tend to agree with you.. My idea was to get exposed to more actual GMAT-flavored questions of high difficulty level. What i typically do after I take the GMATPreps repeatedly is to capture all the questions that I answered incorrectly. Try to solve them again untimed and search/post the questions on BTG, which I am still not able to answer ...
osirus0830 wrote:I think you're playing it wrong. You can get an 800 on the next 3 CATs you take and it won't matter. All that matters is how you do on test day. I'm only taking one more CAT and its mainly just to get timing down. You are better off using the four hours you would spend taking a CAT drilling weakneses, in my opinion. Find as many reading comp passages with questions and do them all. Go through as many SC 1000 questions as possible. Go through as many math questions that you struggle with as possible. That is how I'm spending my remaining time. Good luck.

Yup, this is my first and, I hope, only attempt at the GMAT. Don't be nervous or anxious my friend. This is our moment. We put in the work and now its time to kill it.

I am usually little nervous to start with. But it helps more often than harms. It gets my adrenaline going.
What time is your test? mine is at 5:00 PM IST (GMT+5:30).

You are asking the wrong person I think :) Usually my success on RC depends on the type of passages that I get. I am doing well on Business/Economics passages. Among science passages, I do reasonably well on biology-related passages, surprisingly, even though I am an Engineer. I struggle most with Astronomy-related passages. Couple of days ago, I did a passage on Meteor stream from Verbal supplement. It was maliciously difficult for me. I was able to answer only 1 out of 7 questions from the passage. Only answer that I got right was very obvious question whose answer was the very first sentence of the passage :) I also struggle with passage involving laws, there was some passage I remember about water laws. It was very confusing...

In terms of strategy/tips, what has worked for me focus intensely on the passage and keep noting the key words or ideas from the passage. I try to do this as fast as I can. I however, do not even bother to read what I have written. Main intention is to read the passage very actively. Apart from this, I try to read ScientificAmerican.com and Economist.com whenever I can.

What strategies do you follow? I am yet to practice on LSAT passages. I will be doing them tomorrow... I revised Manhattan SC guide and worked out few quant problems.

Most of the notes are my own creation, but the section on writing styles and extension/application questions, I copied and pasted so I don't want there to be any copyright issues, so don't post that online anywhere. Thanks

Good luck. Hope it helps somewhat. Some of it is obvious, but I found that i needed a constant reminder with certain things.
