I've read multiple posts in which people describe two "old" GMAC CATs and two "new" ones.
I know how to access the "new" tests on the prep software but where are the "old" tests?

I plan on buying the exam packs 1 & 2 from GMAC so that is an additional 4 exams plus these free ones I am trying to find.

You can download the old GMAT Prep and PowerPrep, which only works with older versions of Windows, or maybe just with Windows 7, from here.
