from 540 to 700?

Hi everyone! this is my first post. I am so glad I found this forum, so far it has been so helpful

I am following the 60 day study guide, today is day 4 (ordered the Manhattan series... waiting for it to deliver) =(

Yesterday (day 3), I scored 540 on the sample exam on GmatPrep, 66 percentile in quant, and 23 percentile in verbal =S yikes!...

The school I am planning to go to had a 661 average GMAT score last year, so I am aiming for 700.

My exam is planned for December 8th... is this a realistic goal (provided that I work hard, and do the absolutely best I can)?

Your goal is realistic but you definitely need to work a few hours a day and be systematic. Also it is very important that you choose your resources wisely. Currently you should cover the theory tested in the GMAT and later focus on improving your timing as well as building up stamina necessary to be able to stay focused during the long time of the exam.

540 is an excellent baseline score. It's already better than half of those who write the test after fully preparing, and you're just beginning your prep!

Your target score of 700 is achievable. If you check out BTG's "I Just Beat the GMAT" forum (https://www.beatthegmat.com/i-just-beat- ... t-f15.html), you'll find tons of posts featuring students who achieved 150+ score increases.

thank you both!! this is definitely encourage indeed. I am putting in 3-4 hours per day, probably more towards the exam. Hopefully this will be enough. (this sentences probably needs correction I'm sure)haha

3-4 hours a day is definitely enough. If you continue to work for such a number of hours daily, you will definitely manage to achieve your desired score. I keep my fingers crossed!
