I just Beat The GMAT!

The interview at IIM Ahmedabad was an interesting one. The panel had done its homework well on my application and asked some very deep & conceptual questions about my profile and work experience . I was able to handle all questions with great aplomb, being pretty confident & well prepared! The result will be out in the first week of November. Now I have been shortlisted by IIM Calcutta for their very prestigious one year long PGPEX course on 22 October 11......am pretty excited about what new they might throw at me....I'm more or less a veteran at it now.....bring it on boys!!!

I appeared for IIM Calcutta interview at IIFT Delhi on 22 Oct. The interview went off quite well and was intellectually very stimulating & challenging as a number of probing domain and current affairs questions were asked. Thankfully I'm done with it....the result will be out in the second half of November. All the best to all of you....have a wonderful Diwali!

Guys I am happy to announce that I have been selected for PGPX Course at IIM Ahmedabad, the results for ISB n IIM Cal are also expected shortly, am likely to make it to both of them as well....but that's more of a formality now, since I've decided to join PGPX.....that should cheer up some of my friends though.....b'coz if I can do it, so can you....never give up....cheers n all the best to all of you for a good GMAT Score!

I gather that you plan to enter the Corporate World. I would like to point out one important difference between the government sector where have you worked so far, and the private sector. You might already know this. Still I think, I have to mention this:

The government has virtually unlimited resources. If the govt. has a shortfall, it will increase the tax rate and extract more money from the citizens and from the private sector. After spending 20+ years in govt, especially in the military sector, you might expect that everyone else has abundant resources (time and material) as you had. However, it is not the case. Post MBA, if you enter the private sector, you will realize this. People have limited resources and limited time. I will be surprised if anyone else can garner so many resources and so much time for GMAT preparation as you did. Dare I say you are one of the the lucky few who ended up in the govt job.

I wish you every success in your pursuit. I hope that you will combine your military discipline with the business knowledge and go back to govt. sector. The govt sector needs people like you to reform itself and become more efficient.

Just got the result of ISB PGP.....I have been offered admission there as well......I'll have to forego the offer I guess....IIMA PGPX is a better bet for sure! Cheers!!!

IIM A has bigger and more exclusive brand than ISB in general. IIMA PGPX has a higher average work-ex and salary. The only thing in favor of ISB is that its one year programme is doing well to develop its brand and may have a larger network in future.

IIM Calcutta PGPEX result is in, and I have received an admit from there as well....that's hat trick now after IIMA PGPX & ISB PGP! Shall be going for IIMA PGPX....the course starts on 09 Apr 12. Cheers!

Thank you all for your positive inputs. The aim of publishing my very modest story was to help an average student realise his dream score.
