Hello All,
I hope this is the right place to post. I just took my first attempt at the GMAT yesterday and I'm really bummed with my quant score.
Verbal wasn't an issue, I scored 41 very consistent with what I had been scoring on GMAT PREP.
On the quant though I received a 31, which is lower than my diagnostic score as well as any GMATPREP I ever took. In the last 2 GMAT Prep's I took I scored 44Q and 42Q.
On test day, I wasn't that stressed and actually saw some quite difficult questions early on. My guess is that maybe I dropped off a cliff after the ten first questions because of timing.
Has anyone had the same experience? Scoring so much lower on test day compared to what they were hitting on GMATPREP?
In a way, I'm glad because there is no dilemna regarding whether I shoukd re-take like there would have been with a 650/690.
So a few questions
1) I would love to hear anyone who has a similar story because I'm freaking out right now, thinking that maybe a 700 is not in my reach. Thinking that I should abandon all plans to attend a good business school
2) One of the issues that I think I had was that I studied very hard for the advanced quant (I studied with a tutor) and maybe didn't focus enough on some of the stuff that is tested a lot on the gmat like Number Properties, Properties of Integers and Algebra. I obviously need to give these materials another round, anyone have any suggestions regarding materials?
3) Finally, my biggest issue right now is timing. I honestly feel that I can answer most questions that are presented to me in the OG or Gmatprep if I had 4/5mn per question which is obviously not the point of the GMAT
Does anyone have any recommendations to improve timing when the material is mastered?
Thanks in advance to anyone who will help alleviate the freak out that I'm having right now
