Say initially, Franklin's wage was $x and after the increase, it is $y. Thus, Franklin's wage increased by (y - x)*100%/x.

We have to get the value of (y - x)*100%/x.

Let's take each statement one by one.

(1) Franklin's wage after the increase was $45,000.

=> y = 45,000. We do not know the value of x. Insufficient.

(2) Franklin's wage increased by $2,000.

=> y - x = 2,000. We do not know that value of x. Insufficient.

(1) and (2)

From y - x = 2,000 and y = 45,000, we have x = 43,000.

Thus, Franklin's wage increased by (y - x)*100%/x = 2,000*100%/43,000 = a unique value. Sufficient.

The correct answer: C

Hope this helps!
