Hi LUANDATO,

One of the basic algebraic 'steps' that you'll have to go through on several Quant questions on Test Day is "combine like terms"; here we can combine like terms on each side of the given equation:

2K - 9 - K = 4K+ 6 - 3K
K - 9 = K + 6

As it stands, there is NO solution to this equation - going through one more step would give us:
0 = 15

Final Answer: D

Hi LUANDATO,
Let's take a look at your question.

$$2k-9-k=4k+6-3k$$
$$2k-k+9=4k-3k+6$$
$$k+9=k+6$$
$$k+9-k=6$$
$$k-k=6+9$$
$$0=15$$

Which means, k has no value.
Therefore, option D is correct.

Hope it helps.

Simplifying, we have:

2k - 9 - k = 4k + 6 - 3k

k - 9 = k + 6

We see that there are no values of k for which k - 9 = k + 6.

Answer: D
