A. found in the Philippines and that resembles
B. found in the Philippines and that, resembling
C. found in the Philippines and resembling
D. that is found in the Philippines and it resembles
E. that is found in the Philippines, resembling

For sentence correction:

1. Determine if it's right or wrong.
2. If right then choose A. If wrong eliminate A.
3. Eliminate other incorrect answers.

Whenever there is a list or a number of things compared, they have to be parallel - written in the same form. This thing is

- found in the Philippines
- that resembles a hummingbird

Those are not parallel - they're not in the same format. It would have to be "that is found in..." to parallel "that resembles"

Eliminate A.

Think of my friend Arty Farty who always selects the wrong answer (he also eats dirt and worms.) What else would he select? Eliminate Arty Farty answers.

B "found in the Philippines" is not parallel to "that, resembling". Eliminate.
C "found in the Philippines" is parallel to "resembling". Don't eliminate.
D "that is found in the Philippines" is not parallel to "and it resembles ". Eliminate.
E Opposite of the original. The first part is "that..." and the second part isn't. Eliminate.

C is the answer.

Remember, if you could take the test along with a guy like Arty Farty, who always selects the wrong answer, it would help you. If you had four Arty Farties, you would be golden. Eliminate wrong answers.
