Can anyone explain, why option D is not right?

In A: No clear Antecedent reference of the pronoun "it" & "them" 2. Usage of singular form of Verb(makes[/b])

So B fits!

Also in D, there is a subject verb agreement error.
a rise- singular.
make- plural

That is yet one more reason to eliminate D.

A little more discussion will do no harm maybe in the above thread.
IMO B
cos' them is 1. and 5. does not have clear antecedents.
Again is the parallelism being addressed.
