2+2+2^2+2^3+2^4+2^5+2^6+2^7+2^8

2+2 = 2^2
2^2 + 2^2 = 2*2^2 = 2^3
2^3 + 2^3 = 2*2^3 = 2^4

and so on

2^8 + 2^8 = 2^9 = 512

Does help if you put the options.

logitech gave a very good solution for this

2+2+2^2+2^3+2^4+2^5+2^6+2^7+2^8 = A

Multiply both sides by 2

2^2+2^2+2^3+2^4+2^5+2^6+2^7+2^8 + 2^9 = 2A
2+2+2^2+2^3+2^4+2^5+2^6+2^7+2^8 + 2^9 = 2A
A + 2^9 = 2A
A = 2^9

2+ [ 2+4.....+256]
a =2 r = 2 n = 8

2 + 2[{(2^8) - 1}/(2-1)]
2 + 2(255)
512
