this might of been addressed already but I couldnt find the proble or one similiar to it.

2^(4-1)^2/2^3-2

GMAT prep said the answer is 2^8 Im having a hard time understanding why not 2^5

Question:

2^(4-1)^2/2^3-2

consider first part

2^(4-1)^2=> 2^3^2=>2^9-----(1)

consider second part

2^(3-2)=>2^1-----(2)

then from 1 and 2

2^9/2^1==>2^(9-1)==>2^8

I got lost when I needed to square the exponent. (2^3^2)

BTW: Any suggestions on timing?
