Most incoming MBA students have 4-6 years of work experience, and are generally 26-28 years of age. Having a slightly more extensive job record (three years minimum) would allow you to be a more compelling and successful applicant. This would give you the time necessary to really build up your professional profile, which would include gaining more responsibility, leadership chances, and a wider range of quantifiable accomplishments (revenue generated, costs saved, etc.). Moreover, law is considered a nontraditional background in MBA admissions. So, you'd have to be especially careful to quantify your accomplishments in business terms and to speak about your general leadership and managerial experience instead of relating the specifics of your work. If you can accumulate richer, relevant business experience at the startup, then continue on that path.

The GMAT range for the top 50 universities can vary widely. A 650+ would stand out for lower tier programs; whereas you would need a 700+ for the higher tier programs.
