Exams in two weeks

by AdvenofTintin » Mon May 13, 2013 11:22 pm
Hi Experts,

I have my test next Friday,What should be my strategy leading to the test Date.
Also Should i learn any thing new in these 2 weeks for eg. i havent done probability yet, should i do it now? Or just focus on time management and my weak areas plus my error logs?

Further i am planning to take a banana, one snicker,a gatorade and water for the test day.My test is early morning so i have thought to have eggs and orange juice in the morning plus a protein bar.I have written two full tests in which during the break i had few sips of Gatorade-it dint help much-Should i try Red bull?

Suggestions are welcome.

Regards

BIG QUESTION: Did you achieve/exceed your target score on your two practice tests?

I typically suggest that students achieve their target score on at least 2 practices tests before they take the official test. If you have not yet achieved your target score, you might consider rescheduling.

With 2 weeks to go, you should have learned the majority (if not all) of the content, and this time should be spent taking practice tests to hone your test-taking skills (time management, endurance, test anxiety reduction).

Cheers,
Brent

Thanks Brent,

I havent exceeded my target score yet, but now i can't reschedule the test so will go through it.
The difference between my target score and what i got in the last 2 practise test is 30-40 points.
Gmatprep 660
MGMAT 670
Veritas 680

I am not learning any new content just working on my time management and endurance, cause towards the end of Quant, verbal section, i feel very low on energy, difficult to concentrate and mostly end up with mistakes and guesses.

Any suggestions?

Regards

Good to know you're close to your target score.

Regarding time management, we have a free GMAT time management video at https://www.gmatprepnow.com/module/gener ... es?id=1244

Regarding your low energy, I have two suggestions.
1) Determine which foods you should eat before the test. This varies from student to student. Some function best on carbs and Red Bull; others are negatively affected by anything but protein.
2) Take the allotted breaks to rest and, possibly, eat something (if that works for you)

Keep practicing!

Cheers,
Brent
