Every year, May Seas employees are required to attend seminars that focus on improving the quality of customer service. The budget allocated to these annual seminars is $500,000. Last year, less than 1% percent of May Seas Department Store customers filed a complaint about the quality of service they received from the store's employees. Therefore, May Seas should reallocate $400,000 of the seminar budget to advertising.

Which of the following most weakens the above conclusion?

a, Last year, May Seas was voted Customer Service Provider of The Year.
b, There is a strong positive correlation between May Seas' advertising budget and its revenues.
c, May Seas investigated every complaint received last year, and customers whose complaint was found to be justified received compensation.
d, Complaint forms and boxes are positioned at every entrance to the store, and on the May Seas website.
e, May Seas' advertising budget has grown steadily over the past five years, but the number of customers has not increased.f

It's a bit technical in thinking to just arrive at a decision unless we critically take a look at the options one by one.

From Option A - INCORRECT.
We can get that, obviously the company won the said award because of the magnificent feat recorded in that department. Less than 1% filled complaint? come on they serve some accolades. Unfortunately, this does not weaken the argument it has only strengthened it.

In Option B - INCORRECT.
It is obvious there is a connection, a sort of relationship between the advertising budget and the revenues generated. More people should get to know more about the products and services.

In Option C - INCORRECT.
It is another position of strength for the writer. They can only know the statistics of what and what need be done if they pay attention to data collection, in which case they have done well.

In Option D - INCORRECT.
In order to get both positive and negative feedback from customers this would be an appropriate gesture from May seas. Another strength it has.

In Option E - CORRECT.
If the advertising budget has grown, then there won't be any need to ''reallocate'' more than 90% of the total budget to that department. It is just simple, they need more customers which they don't currently have. This is a position of weakness.
