I think you have a legitimate shot at Langone. I particularly like your IT focus and the fact that you have a masters.

The GMAT is good but not not great and the lack of ECs is not ideal. Other than that, my first take here is that you are really going to need to make a case for why an IT person wants to go to business school part-time instead of full-time.

If you are a career changer (which seems like a very good reason for a tech person to go to business school: move into general management, etc.) then a part-time choice seems odd unless you have the support of your company for the change that you are intending to make. On the other hand, if your company wants you to get broader business exposure then I think you're competitive.

A few other thoughts in no particular order:

- You will, of course, be competing to get in with lots of finance people; emphasize how you are different. Remember, they are competing for the finance slots, you are competing for a different slot. Emphasize the difference and set yourself apart.

- Make sure that your recommendations include some comment about how business school is part of your career growth in the company, etc. Make sure that your recommenders understand that a part-time MBA is a slightly different animal compared to a full-time MBA.

- Consider applying to other places if the goal is to get an MBA rather than to go to Stern.
