If you're talking about the AWA on the GMAT, then it's worth knowing that that part of the Test is remarkably predictable. By extension, there are 'templates' that you can use to quickly craft an effective essay in the 30 minutes that you're given. As long as you're scoring at a reasonable level (at least a 4.0 out of 6.0), then most Business Schools won't think too much about your AWA score.
