In the rectangular coordinate system, are the points (r, s) and (u, v) equidistant from the origin?

(1) r + s = 1.

(2) u = 1 - r and v = 1 - s.

dist of r,s from 0,0= sqrt(r^2+s^2)...1
u,v from 0,0 =sqrt(u^2+v^2)..2

1-2 should be 0

II will give
sqrt [(1-r)^2+(1-s)^2 ]
sqrt[1+r^2-2r+1+s^2-2s]
sqrt[2-2(r+s)+r^2+s^2]

Use I you will get the ans as C

Just curious, when you have GMAT score of 760 why are you asking so many questions? It's not that you cant ask but I feel you should be the one who must be answering others questions.

Do you have questions you want I should explain for you? Please send these to me. I am enjoying faculty position in an renowned institution where I get plenty of free time to visit related forums, I post questions for its mass as problems they should attempt, not as a problem I am caught by.

After seeing your GMAT score it was pretty evident. I wanted to know the reason. Till now quanta has not given me any trouble. However, if it does in future I will surely give you a shout.
