1)x+y=3; as nothing is mentioned about x and y; they can be either integers or non-integers, hence x and y can take different values(both integral as well as non-integral).. 1 alone is not sufficient to answer the question..!!
2)3x+2y=8; similarly here as well as x can be both integers as well as non-integers hence x and y can take different values( both integral as well as non-integral)... 2 alone is not sufficient to answer the question...!!!
combining 1 and 2 we have; x+y=3 and 3x+2y=8 solving these two equation we have x=2 and y=1;
hence 2x+3y=2*2+3*1=4+3=7; hence answer should be C
