Entrprenuership as goal for part time MBA

by ftorpt » Sun Feb 03, 2013 3:38 pm
Hello all

I am currently applying to the kellogg, Booth and Ross part time MBA programs. I would like to start my own business after the MBA program. Are there any current or part time MBA students/ MBA consultants, who could advice me on how the adcom sees entreprenuership as a short/long term goal? Is the general perception that you require a full time MBA to do this or can I work towards starting my company post MBA? Thanks for taking the time and looking forward to hearing from you.

In general, my recommendation is to present entrepreneurship as a goal ONLY if you have some CONCRETE basis to prove that this is feasible. So if you have founded companies before, if you have worked several years on a product, if you come from a family of entrepreneurs, if you hold patents, etc.... otherwise, it may seem a bit like a "pipe dream" and it's feasibility may be perceived as low.
