Hello, I am currently employed as a first level manager in a manufactring firm. I want to leave my current engineering job and make a switch to Finance/International Management. I understand the best way to do this is pursue FT MBA. I am also looking at EMBA option since this will allow me to retain my current job and pursue MBA. I understand EMBA is not a option to switch carrers but rather for advancing career in the present job. For pursuing a full time MBA, I will have to quit my job and relocate with my family. Is career switching impossible with EMBA? The other option is pursuing a part-time MBA but the MBA schools in my area are not highly ranked. What are my options? Thanks

O,
You are right, it is difficult to switch careers in an EMBA program. However you are given a fantastic opportunity to network with classmates, alumni, faculty and to utilize the school's career resources to help you make that transition. As you do your research on programs, talk to school officials and learn more about the potential opportunites that might be available to you to make that switch without formal recruiting activities.
