Indus civilization was either in decline when it was destroyed by Aryan invaders from the northwest speaking an Indo-European language from which most of the languages of Pakistan, Northern India, and Bangladesh descend or that it was militarily vulnerable.

A. that it was militarily vulnerable.
B. had militarily vulnerability.
C. was militarily vulnerable.
D. militarily vulnerable.
E. was it militarily vulnerable.
----------
I am confused between C and D. Please advise.

I think it's D.

because the statement goes "...was either in decline....or"
if it were C it would be "was either in decline or was militarily vulnerable"
"was either x or was y"?
i think "was either X or Y" is better.
OA?

Reviving old post because I have the same problem with this question.

I chose D, but the people who made this question think it's C, which for me it's quite clear that it's not parallel.

Any thoughts?

Wouldn't it be "C" since the sentence starts with "Was either in decline"... you need to match that with "was militarily vulnerable"
