What's wrong with E?

IMO, C can be refuted by saying that structures built may sometimes be the result of imagination than of reality.

Great question!

C and E appear to be strong contenders.

C is based on the finding of paintings but the source of findings is not authenticated.

E is based on the findings of chemical composition of feathers and is also given that the chemical composition strongly suggests that they are feathers. This gives an added advantage to E over C.

Thus, E.

Cant frills be white and orange coloured
Moreover just because the outline was found to be white and orange coloured , how could 1 presume that the outline actually consisted of feathers.
Well i myself chose E. but cant c be correct.
Agreed that the carvings could be a figment of imagination but the same could be said about D.

Which of the following if true...

The chemical composition revealed that the outline was made of white and orange colours , strongly suggesting the display function of feathers as in peacocks --> I doubt whether you can question something that has been bestowed with the distinction of a 'fact' by the question stem. Correct me if I am wrong.

Conclusion - The outline was not that of feathers but rather of frills.
Reason - Flight not possible because of structure and insulation not possible because of outline's position.

A chemical composition has suggested feathers - That perhaps is a more pressing evidence against the conclusion.

Merely suggesting that carvings depicting flying dinosaurs were found does not help, IMO.

What is the OA btw?

Hi mundasingh,

We have a policy that we do not allow our users to post e-GMAT content on public forums. If you have a question on any e-GMAT content, you can post it in in internal e-GMAT forums that are created for every concept. Please see the attached image for more information about the forums.

Furthermore, this question (like all others) have been explained in detail in the same concept file from where you picked this question. So please feel free to review the solutions and ask any doubts that you may have. We will be happy to address your concerns.

Please note that we are a very small start-up. We make all our questions from scratch and cannot afford for these to be posted outside since it will be a disservice to our customers who expect to see fresh content in our courses. So we would appreciate if you could delete these posts.

Thank you for your understanding.
