Simple but I am just confirming

Statement 1:
x= 2 => x^2 - x - 2 = 0
=> irrespective of y, the product will be y.
SUFFICIENT

Statement 2:
y =3 => y^2 - y -2 = 4
So, the product will depend on the value of x.
INSUFFICIENT
