Correct Idiomatic Usage of interact is - Interacted with ( This reduces answer choice to A & C)

Further C uses - one another , which suggests more than 2 , so this seems better than A

IMO C ..

okay My answer is C ...
Explanation

The first clause is simple past so to maintain parallelism both verbs recognise and interact must be in simple past thus eliminating D and E from the options

Next, for comparing two persons we use between more than two we use among...
So remove B as it uses among for each other...

as at the end comparison is done among various tribes, they can be more than two, so cannot use between
so eliminate A

thus, C seems to be the right answer ....
I hope it is the right answer and right explanation
please feel free to argue if i am wrong it will be greatly appreciated...
