Hi!

My wife was just asked to interview for Duke's Nurse Anesthesia program in August. We're both ecstatic about it so I decided to fly to NC with her. Living in Portland, OR, it's not every day that I have a chance to visit Fuqua, so I want to take full advantage of this opportunity. Duke is one of the schools that I'd love to apply to next year.

Is there anything I can do on this visit (a full year before I even apply) to make an impression on an admissions committee member or the school somehow? And along those lines, is it even possible for prospective students to meet with committee members on campus visits?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

on what you can do during your visit.

As for meeting with the Admissions committee and asking questions,
you might want to first browse through the book "How to get into the top
MBA programs". There are certain dos and donts that are clearly outlined.

Hi Sadowski,

That's great that you have a chance to visit. Taking a look at the school website to see how they organize prospective student visits will help you plan your trip.

The purpose of your visit is for you to see if you like the school, and if it seems like a good "fit" for you. I wouldn't focus too much on making an impression, just be yourself. Generally I would advise you to be polite and professional, and treat it as you would any work related event.

I would recommend visiting a class, having lunch with students if they offer that option, and visiting an admissions information session. The info session is usually a great way to meet the admissions officers. Just be yourself and use the opportunity to network with current students and gain specific and personal information for your essays.
