Among the first ten cyclists who crossed the finish-line, 4 were Italians and 8 represented Telefonica team. How many cyclists who represented Telefonica team and finished in the top ten were not Italians?

1. 2 Italians who finished in the top ten did not represent Telefonica team
2. Each of the top ten finishers either was an Italian or represented Telefonica team or both

IMO D

Stem
I-4
T-8
I ^ T = ?
Note: Here ^ represents intersection (Thanks sanju!).
What we need to find is
T- (I ^ T)
or 8 - (I^T)

(1)
Since it mentions 2 out of 4 cyclists were only italian
Hence the number which was in Telefonica Team = 4-2=2, Hence (I^T)= 2
So pure telefonica = 8-2=6
Suff

(2)
From this statement we can understand that our entire sample space of top ten is Telefonica or Italian.
Hence
(I U T) = I + T - (I ^ T)
10=4+8-( I ^ T)
(I ^ T)=2
Hence only telefonica = 8-2=6
Suff

Hence D

Well Sanju, thats the closest symbol to an intersection that I could find on my keyboard :?

But, are they asking for intersection of I and T? I think they are asking to obtain T - I, in set language, Isn't it?

Yes, they are. What I meant was if he can find the intersection , we can find T-(I^T). Seems I have made it a little unclear. Thanks sanju , Ill edit it
