1)insuf - it means y>1muzali wrote:If x and y are positive integers and x is a multiple of y, is y = 2?
(1) y ≠ 1
(2) x + 2 is a multiple of y
2) x + 2 is a multiple of y
(x+2) = Y*INTEGER
from the stem we know that X=Y*INTEGER
if we combine these two statements:
Y*INTEGER+2=Y*INTEGER
Y( Integer - INTEGER) = 2
we can get 2 in two ways : 2x1 or 1x2
INSUF - we dont know which one is 2
1+2 ) SUFF
we know y is not equal to 1 from first statement
Hence, C
Am I right ?
