When 15n, where n is a positive integer, is divided by 6, the remainder is x. What is the value of
x?
(1) When n is divided by 2, the remainder is 0.
(2) When n is divided by 3, the remainder is 0.

Hi magical cook

where did u get this question from? is it GMAT prep?

I am confused. If n is divisible by 2 and 3 then it should be divisible by 6. So how come there is a remainder when n is divided by 6

Can any one help??

isn't it possible for the remainder to =0, thus x=0. I think the answer is D...since both statements seem to point to no remainder.

Isnt the answer A?

case 1:n is any multiple of 2, including 0, so 15 is a multiple of 3 and n is a multiple of 2, hence 15n is divisible by 6, hence 0.
case 2: since 15 is divisible by 3, and n can be any number odd or even.
so it can say for example be 0, 15, or even 30. depending on each value the remainder changes.
