In the xy plane, region R consist of all the points on (x,y) such that 2x+3y=6,is the point(r,s) in the region R.

1. 3r+2s=6
2. r=3, s=2

Can any1 also tell me tell me how to paste the image .........

Ans IMO is B

We need to find
is 2r+3s = 6 ??

A
you are not sure whether 2r+3s will be 6 or not

B
you can easily find that 2r+3s is not zero

Image pasting:
copy paste the image in work doc and upload the doc
or
if some types of images are allowed to upload, pl convert the file type to desired one and upload.

I am confused why are writing region?
the equation corresponds to a line

I am assuming that you want me to find whether a point is on the line or not.......
(r,s) will be on line with equn 2x+3y=6 if and only if 2r+3s=6

so we need to find 2x+3y=6 or not

A
3r+2s=6
we can not find 2r+3s=6 or not
so insufficient

B:
r=3, s=2
so here
2r+3s = 2*3 + 3*2 = 12
as 12 != 6
so the point is not on the line
but this equn is sufficient to answer

so ans is B

if the A is
2x+3y=6
thn answer would become D

I would wait for others to comment on.
May be the question is asking for points enclosed inside this line and x, yaxis

the st line cuts x and y axis @ (3,0) and (0,2)

so r = 3 and s=2 will fall outside straight line.

hence answer is B.
how the oa is E?
