If n is an integer and 100 < n <200, what is the value of n?
(1) n/36 is an odd integer.
(2) n/45 is an even integer.

A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

statement 1..36*3=108, 36*5=180..insuff
statement 2...45*4=180..suff

Stmt 1: insufficient
n/36 is odd
n can be 3, 5

stmt2:
sufficient.
coz 4 is the only number that fits such that 100 < n < 200.

So B.

Why is it not C?

Stmt I

100 < n < 200

n/36 INT

n=144
n=180

INSUFF

Stmt II

n/45 INT

n=135
n=180

INSUFF

Together
lcm of 36 and 45 is 180

SUFF

stmt 2 says n/45 is even int.

n can be only 135 or 180 as u rightly pointed out.
but 135/45 = 3 and 180/45 = 4.
180/45 =4 fits the bill.
hence B.

I got B too...

But the OA mentioned in GMAt sets is "C".

I believe there is a mistake...

OA should be B...

It should be B, as per your question.

But are u sure u got the Q right,
coz generally the options lead to some answers, unique or multiple.

Look at Stmt I:
If 100<n<200. There is no way n/36 will lead you to an odd number.
As multiples are 108, 144, 180. So this Stmt doesn't give even one answer.
Such Q on GMAT are rare, or at least I have rarely come across them.

So, plz check the question once again where u picked this up.

Answer is B because:

(1) gives us x = 108 or x = 180
(2) gives us x = 180
