Blair is shopping for a meal. He buys truffles, caviar, tuna, and grapes. He spends the same amount of money on each item, though he purchases different quantities of each. If the quantities purchased are all integer values greater than 1, and if the product of the weights in ounces of each item is equal to the price in cents paid for each item, what is the median price paid per ounce?



(1) Blair spent a total of $46.20 on items.



(2) Blair purchased a total of 26 ounces of food items.


Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) ALONE is not sufficient.

Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) ALONE is not sufficient.

BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.

EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.

from stmt 1 - total price paid = 46.2$ = 4620 cents..the same price is paid for each item and so for one item the price wud be 1155 cents. Also from the Q we can that price paid for each item is the product of the weight of each item...
1155 = 3 * 5 * 7 * 11 and so the weights are 3,5,7 and 11 but, we dont know for which item does this wt correspond to......the Q is to find the median of price per ounce...price for each item is the same and we have the wt for each item too...So suf.

from stmt 2 - we cant get anything...
So ans is A.
