If y is an integer between 2 and 100 and if y is also the square
of an integer, what is the value of y?
(1) y is not a prime number.
(2) y is evenly divisible by 3.

I think the answer is B.

The list of possible values can be 4,9,16,25,36,49,64,81. And out of the 3 nos divisible by 3 only 36 produces a even remainder.

Am I right?

I think you wanted to mean 'quotient'.
Anyway, "evenly divisible" simply means divisible, i.e. completely divisible without leaving any remainder. Yes, it is a confusing term. It does not mean the division will result in an even quotient.

Possible values of y are : 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, and 81

Statement 1: This is redundant information as y is a square of an integer, we know y cannot be prime.

Not sufficient

Statement 2: y can be 9 or 36 or 81.

Not sufficient

1 & 2 Together: No new information.

Not sufficient

The correct answer is E.
