3) On the number line, the distance between point A and point C is 5 and the distance between point B and point C is 20. Does point C lie between point A and point B?
1) The distance between point A and point B is 25
2) Point A lies to the left of point B.

Answer is A (don't understand why not D)

.. if the point is to the left of A then the distance between point c and point b would have been 5+25= 30 ... the same would be applicable if the point was to the right of b ( that is not between A and B ) then the distance between A and C would be 25+20 = 45 ... so to satisfy the conditions given in the question C has to be between A and B .. so A ..
