When drivers are deprived of sleep there are definite behavioral changes, such as slower responses to stimuli and a reduced ability to concentrate, but people's self-awareness of these changes is poor. Most drivers think they can tell when they are about to fall asleep, but they cannot.

Each of the following illustrates the principle that the passage illustrates EXCEPT:

(A) People who have been drinking alcohol are not good judges of whether they are too drunk to drive.

(B) Elementary school students who dislike arithmetic are not good judges of whether multiplication tables should be included in the school's curriculum.

(C) Industrial workers who have just been exposed to noxious fumes are not good judges of whether they should keep working.

(D) People who have just donated blood and have become faint are not good judges of whether they are ready to walk out of the facility.

(E) People who are being treated for schizophrenia are not good judges of whether they should continue their medical treatments.

Should be B. It is the only option that talks about a dislike affecting the outcome instead of a deprivation as in the other options

Why not E and what is the source?

External factors reduce judgement of which the individual is unaware.
In order of their difficulty level
(A) People who have been drinking alcohol are not good judges of whether they are too drunk to drive.
External factor - alcohol . Reduce judgement - Driving skills
(C) Industrial workers who have just been exposed to noxious fumes are not good judges of whether they should keep working. Ext factors - noxius fumes. Reduce judgement - Mining.
(D) People who have just donated blood and have become faint are not good judges of whether they are ready to walk out of the facility. Ext factors - Blood donation Reduce judgement - Walk out.
(E) People who are being treated for schizophrenia are not good judges of whether they should continue their medical treatments. Ext factors - Medicines? Reduce judgement - continue treatement.
(B) Elementary school students who dislike arithmetic are not good judges of whether multiplication tables should be included in the school’s curriculum. Ext factors - ???? Reduce judgement - Contents of their curriculum.
Between E and B, B seems to be more of an exception. IMO B.

X deprived of Y leads to Z. But X is usually not aware of Z. X think that it can do ABC but it cannot.

All of the sentences below, except B are based on the above structure. Hence B is our winner.

If b were to be


(B) Elementary school students who dislike arithmetic are not good judges of whether they should represent the school in the arithmetic quiz. Then this would be one of the options that we could eliminate.. but it's not..
