First of all we believe that no question is dumb and it is a good thing to be curious �.Since this is regarding your career so don't let hesitation come in between.

Secondly, most of the schools don't have such guidelines for essay writing. There may be some schools (like Stanford) which specify their essay writing guidelines. The same is shared with the applicants in their requirements as well.

Our personal advice is that you should thoroughly go through the essay guidelines of each school where you are applying. The guidelines would educate you about the school's process and would also include aspects beyond text formatting.

The key thing is that your essays should be structured in a format which is easy to read and that would take care of pointers like line-spacing, font and paragraph formatting etc.

hello, i stumbled upon this and i am having the same question. My application guideline says the essay must be 1/2 page double spaced. Im having difficulty understanding this because half a page double spaced is very little space for writing an essay. Did i understand this correctly?? the big essay is limited to 1 1/2 page double space so I'm assuming 1/2 means half a page double space. It just seems so little space. any help?

I would call each school to find out their requirements if you can't find them on the website. It's not a big deal to call and inquire.
