Does time counts as extra points if I answer fast?

Does time matter? If I answer a question in 30 seconds rather than in 2 minutes, would this give me "extra points"?

No extra points

But it does give you extra time to spend on other questions.

Not only does time not matter in terms of the way the computer sees your answer, but trying to answer questions in 30 seconds will cause you to make LOTS of careless mistakes - and that WILL lower your score.

Don't "try" to be quick, be accurate, and as you become more efficient some questions will naturally take 1 minute or even less.

By the way, there are no bonus points for time left on the clock at the end of section either.

Hi juancarlosr,

There are a number of factors that affect your scores on the GMAT, but how quickly you answer an individual question is NOT one of them.

If you can tell me a bit more about your studies so far, then I'll be happy to offer some advice on your study plan:
1) Are you just starting off your studies?
2) Have you taken any FULL-LENGTH practice CATs? If so, then what were your scores?
3) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
4) What is your goal score?
