Say Country X has X numbers of citizens and Country Y has Y numbers of citizens.
We have to determine whether X > Y.
Let's take each statement one by one.
1) 60% of Country X's citizens are also citizens of Country Y.
The number of citizens of both the countries = 60% of X = 0.6X. No information about Country Y. Insufficient.
2) 30% of Country Y's citizens are not citizens of Country X.
The number of citizens of both the countries = (100 - 30)% = 70% of Y = 0.7Y. No information about Country X. Insufficient.
(1) and (2) together
0.6X = 0.7Y
=> X = 7Y/6
=> X > Y. Sufficient.
The correct answer:
C
