Do I have a chance to get in Baruch?

by stuart1017 » Fri Jan 03, 2014 6:32 am
Hi,

Just took My GMAT and Scored a 530. AWA 5.5 and IR of 7. I have an GPA of 3.3 in undergrad. Mayjor in Finance and Concentration in Accounting. I have 10 years work experience post college. I know my Gmat is on there low end, but does my work experience and gpa help out with that?

Thanks!

You COULD have a chance if your work experience is excellent, but a 540 is pretty low, even for Baruch, and you might want to retake if you have the time.

The best way to gauge your chances is to look at the school's average GMAT and 20%-80% range. Per Baruch's Fall 2012 Class Profile on their website (admittedly dated) https://zicklin.baruch.cuny.edu/admissio ... ofile.html, their average GMAT score is 590 with a 20%-80% range of 510-690.

So, assuming these scores have remained constant years later, you do stand a chance with a 530. But I agree with John that you should retake the test to improve your chances.

Good luck,
