I got a 720 on my GMAT and my Undergrad GPA was a 4.0

I was wondering if I can get into HBS with that profile, or should I retake the GMAT? (I can probably get a higher score since I lost 10 minutes in the quant section due to an unscheduled break, but I'd rather not retake it unless I have to)

Avinash,

If those two numbers can help answer the question you have asked, 100% of the applicants to HBS would probably know their chances even before applying. While GMAT and GPA is a part of the overall application process, they are not the one driving the results. How you performed at work, your extra curricular, performance in college, test scores, recommendations, leadership qualities, etc all put together decide how good a candidate you are for HBS or for that matter any top school.

If you'd like to discuss your personal profile in detail, feel free to contact us. Good luck!

Thanks, for the reply, I'm considering whether to get assistance from a consulting service, but haven't decided yet

Right now I'm trying to see where I stand test and UG wise and then focus on the other aspects of my application

The MBA admission process is a comprehensive & holistic evaluation of your profile. Even 800 GMAT does not guarantee selection (and 600 GMAT does not mean rejection).

Yes, your excellent GPA and decent GMAT will help your chances. Whether you get into HBS or not will depend on the rest of your profile, and how you communicate the same to the adcom.

No, do not spend time on another GMAT attempt; if a 720 score can't get you in, a 750 would most likely have the same result.

Most admission consulting services (including us) offer a free profile/essay evaluation. Talk to them, know the consultant who would be working with you and only proceed if you are comfortable with the setup.
