Yup. When 15 is divided by 18 , the remainder would be 15 (18-3).

Hence satisfies the condition.

That was if the question said 18/15, but the questions says 15/18. and also the remainder has to equal y (denominator) minus 3. So I don't understand how there can be an 18 there as one of the answers.

we must only consider integral quotient, since numerator is less than the denominator, the numerator is the remainder

yn+y-3=15
y=18/1+n ;y is positive integer >=3
n=0,1,2,5,8,17 give you integer values of y>=3
y=18,6,3
