The table above shows the distribution of test scores for a group of management trainees. Which score interval contains the median of the 73 scores?

A. 60-69
B. 70-79
C. 80-89
D. 90-99
E. cannot be determined

Any ideas? Not sure how i'm supposed to read it..

In a certain deck of cards, each card has a positive integer written on it. In a multiplication game, a child draws a card and multiplies the integer on the card by the next larger integer. If each possible product is between 15 and 200, then the least and greatest integers on the cards could be

A. 3 and 15
B. 3 and 20
C. 4 and 13
D. 4 and 14
E. 5 and 14

This question has thrown me slightly off the road...i thought that the smallest integer should be 3 as it is a factor of 15??

can you explain, please? thanks!

Q1:

There are 73 numbers. b/c this is odd number you know that the median is one of the numbers, and not an average of 2 numbers.

so there are 36(#s)----Median----(36#s)

Median is the 37th number. which falls under the 80-89 range.

(C)

Q2:

you can just look at the answer choices and eliminate A, B b/c 3*4 = 12 which is not in the 15 - 200 range.

E can also be eliminated b/c 5*6 = 30 which is in the range but is not the smallest compared to 4*5 = 20

D can be eliminated b/c 14*15 = 210 ( you can make this simpler if you know your squares :14*14 = 196)

C is the only option left. both numbers fall within the range.
