Have read in an exctract from a prestigious magazine that according to Stern b-school explorers, only white males can receive a place in board of directors in most companies. Feeling pretty demotivated after reading this. Is there really a discrimination of this kind?

There is certainly still significant discrimination against women in the workforce, both in terms of unequal pay and in access to positions of power. However, it's no longer true that "only white males" can join boards of directors. The opportunities that women and people of color have to join boards of directors probably varies widely by industry and region.
