Digits Problem

Can anyone explain why the answer is A? Please help...
The product of the units digit, the tens digit, and the hundreds digit of the positive integer m is 96. What is the units digit of m?
(1) m is odd.
(2) The hundreds digit of m is 8.

I answered C and feel that the answer given is wrong. Doubt the correctness of this test:

Let the no. be xyz , x as the hundreth digit, y tens & z units
x*y*z = 96
1) The unit digit is odd so it can be 3,5,7,9
96 is not divisible by 5,7 or 9 but by 3
2) If x = 8
yz = 12 = 2²*3
possibilities y = 2 z =6, y = 4 z = 3 etc

96=2*6*8 or 3*4*8 are the only

From 1..unit digit is odd..only possible value is 3..sufficient

from 2...hundred digit is 8..unit digit can be 2,6,3 or 4 ..not sufficient

It should be option A

x*y*z=96
the factors of 96 are 2*2*2*2*2*3

Statement 1: m is odd
this means only 3 can be in units place.
Hence it issufficient

Statement 2: The hundreds digit of m is 8
more than 1 number fits this criteria
826, 862 ,.......

Hence it is not sufficient

Statement 1 and Statement 2 combined
the number will be of the form 8 _ 3 . the ten's digit can only be 4

the question is what is the units digit..not what is tens digit.Please check again
