When it comes to evaluating these CAT results, it's important to pay attention to the details. For example:
1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT in one sitting (including Essay and IR)?
2) After reviewing the CAT, how many questions in each section did you get wrong due to silly/little mistakes?
3) How often are you doing work "in your head?" How often are you "narrowing it down to 2 choices and then guessing?"
After all the time that you've spent, you might also have to accept that doing things "your way" didn't work for you. Some adjustments to your plan, tactics, etc. are probably warranted. To that end...
1) What is your score goal?
2) Where do you want to apply to school? And when?

Those tests are different. The Official GMAT questions are the best at subtle questions with answer choices that draw you in and make you feel sure that you have answered correctly, when you have actually fallen into the trap.
The official questions benefit from two things that allow them to be so much more realistic. They are offered as experimental items first. So that GMAC knows the difficulty of the question based on actual student responses, as opposed to experts' opinions of how difficult a question is. Second, these questions are edited to a very high degree; each word is carefully selected to be tricky, yet fair.
This allows official questions to be much more subtle. You not only have to be able to do the math but you have to recognize what the problem requires.
