Did I just beat the GMAT? Q41 V44: 700, 90%

Hi,

some background information: I'm German, did my bachelor in the UK, got a first. I took the GMATprep diagnostic test (560, don't remember the exact breakdown, verbal was horrible, something like 48th percentile and quant was 60th percentile-ish), then studied for one month (about 2 hours per day, full time job) using the OG 13th edition, and took my test today haha. I was more than surprised when I saw the 700!!!! However, I'm not sure whether or not my quant score is "too low" or "good enough" or ... ? Can somebody help me? I might add that I am not that keen on retaking it

. I'm planning on applying to MASTER courses, NOT MBAs if that helps.

I'm new here so can't advise if you've "beat" the test. I suppose it depends on if you are happy with it and what the average score is for your target schools. Considering you're going for a grad degree and not a business degree- I would guess that you're score is pretty song.

Check the average test at your target schools first though.

And congrats! Very impressive for 1 month of prep.

Wow, congratulations on the phenomenal improvement! That's a huge jump in just one month, and you should be really, really happy with what you've achieved.

If you were applying to a top-20 MBA program in the United States, I would definitely advise you to re-take, since most top programs generally like to see a higher quant score than that. However, there's a ton of variation among master's programs, and AbiNichole has the right idea: check with the programs to see what their quant averages look like, and go from there.

You're clearly pretty good at this stuff, I'm sure that you'll be completely fine, even if you ultimately need a higher quant score. Let's see... if you improved 140 points with one month of studying, that means that you'll get an 840 with another month of studying. Oh, wait...
