Hi all,

I've never posted on here before, but I joined a few weeks ago and took the GMAT today. I am planning on applying to HBS eventually, and was aiming for somewhere around a 700. Due to my circumstances, I only had 2 weeks to prepare, so I was pleasantly surprised to score a 730 since I had scored only a 650 on my initial GMATPrep.

For people in a time crunch like me, here's what to do. I worked only out of the OG, Quantitative OG, Kaplan 800, the GMATFocus math tests that you can purchase online, and the GMATPrep and PowerPrep.

I only worked the last 50-100 problems out of the OG; everything before those problems were too easy for the 700 scoring level, so focus on those. For math, I found that making a one page summary sheet of formulas and critical information can really help you out to review on test day.

Here's the deal maker for me: Purchase the GMATFocus tests if you can. Yes, they're expensive, but they provide really impressive diagnostic analyses of your strengths and weaknesses. Each time I took one and spent time looking over my results, I felt I was improving my score around 10 points.

Some people seem to be ambivalent about the Kaplan 800 book, but it really helped my brain out to work only on the toughest questions. The explanations aren't the greatest, but the questions are helpful. Hope all that helps!

wow that is awesome. You should be proud. My practice score was in the 400's...and I had never looked at the GMAT before...I have about 2 months of study time so prayerfully I can bring my score up - what you wrote is very helpful, but will take some practice for me. :D
